What we do
Torch down modified bitumen has protected flat and low slope sections on Bay Area homes for decades. It is a multi layer asphalt membrane that is heat fused to the base sheet, forming a thick, puncture resistant roof that handles foot traffic and rooftop equipment well. It is our go to for small residential flat roofs, porch roofs, and the flat sections where a pitched roof meets an addition.

How we solve it
We prepare the deck, install the base sheet, and torch apply the cap sheet so it fuses into one membrane. Walls, curbs and pipes get multi layer flashing. Our crews are trained and equipped for safe torch work, and every job is inspected after it cools.

Fifteen to twenty years with a cool roof cap sheet and proper drainage. Periodic inspection of the seams and flashing extends that further.
02Is torch down safe to install?
In trained hands, yes. We follow fire watch procedures on every torch job and use torch free methods where the building details call for it.
03Can torch down be repaired?
Yes, it is one of the most repairable flat systems. Blisters, splits and open laps can be cut out and patched with new material fused in place.
04Torch down or TPO for my home?
For small, complex residential flat sections torch down is often the better fit. For larger open roofs TPO is usually the better value. We recommend based on your roof.
